Ever wonder what www(dot) really means in our lives. World Wide Web, for most, translates to "What We Want, followed by our hearts desire dot com". It would seem that nothing is inaccessible anymore. Once there were barriers to keep children from exposure to filth, like store clerks who wouldn't let youngsters buy porn, or ticket sellers who checked your ID before letting you see an 'R' rated movie. Now it's all there on the www. (watch whatever whenever.com)
The real tell is the fill-in-the-blank between the www and the dot com. What you type there reveals your interests and the frequency with which you visit those addresses, reveals your heart's desire. And your heart's desire reveals your idol, that thing you worship, that thing that defines you and leads you.
Are you addicted - www.porn, www.gambling, www.games, www.shopping, www.sports? Are you selfdestructive- www.suicide, www.bombmaking, www.cult? Or perhaps desperate -www.matchmaker, www.tarotcards, www.lotto, www.selfhelp? Or just selfcentered, www.tumblr, www.facebook, www.twitter or even www.ancestory?
How often is your www. followed by biblestudy.com, prayer.com, Christ.com, theQuran.com, the lotus-sutras.com or theTorah.com? My God asked that He be placed first in my life. Jesus answered the temple leaders that the most important commandment was to "Love your Lord thy God " followed closely by "Love one another".
How much can I love God or others from my www? How much will I use the internet for the benefit of my fellow man or even selfishly for the refinement of my soul.
WWW is a wonderful tool but like all things in life, if becomes a corruption if not tempered with balance. Just a thought.
